Art Tips Texture I'm always atracted to the textured colour on a painting. As well as the texture enrich the colour, without it, a painting would be flatter and hard, eventhough it's wealthy with colours representing light and shadow in any deep level with good blending. Moreover texture gives skin's or surface's pores effect. Specialy it makes the colour representing human's skin more tender and firmer. Size of the Subject Size of the subject of the portrait painting is important according to where it will be applied. When it will be hang on interior wall, 1:1 scale would be suitable and pleasant to look. For illustration, when you are standing beside a portrait painting, it will be more good looking if the painting subject and you are in the equal or proportional size. Lighting Lighting is very important. Principally, we arange it so that model's face does'nt appear flatter and less sculpted (practically it happens when the model sits facing the main source of light). It will be less dramatic, if lighting brings simetric shadow between right and left side of the face. |
